Showing some things I am been doing lately......I bought this picture at the thrift store for 1.00, I liked it but the picture looked too dark with the darkness of the frame, so I took it apart and sprayed the front of the frame white and then made a wash of black acrylic paint and water and brushed it on and wiped it back off leaving some into the crevices.....now I like it!

I did this altered altoid tin for a swap I am in on a yahoo art group...I hope my partner will like it.....I had fun altering it......

Pics from Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day!...Hubby and I went for a motorcycle ride, it was 80 degrees here on east coast of Florida and we had a wonderful ride...The first pics of the Sandhill Cranes were on the side of the road on a back street and we stopped and Rod was able to get very close to get these pics.....

The other pics are from a cafe at Port Canaveral, where the cruise ships port, I love eating at "GRILLS", they have wonderful bacon wrapped scallops and sweet potato fries....and I always love sticking around and listening to the band outside, and watching ships go by, and seeing the fishermen bringing in their catch and cleaning them, and a lot of pelicans were hanging out there too.....One pelican was on top of the overhang of the cleaning table, and he was just waiting for a snack.....and the fisherman threw him a bit and he caught it too....
We really enjoyed the entire day riding and then on Sunday, we went to Orlando and had a great dinner at a nice resturant we had not been to before, Hubby even made reservations.....It was a nice Valentine's weekend....

Remember, you can click on the pics to enlarge them!

Valentine Cookie Sandwiches

Click on that picture to see them up close and personal........

Early Valentine's treat for my hubby! and he loved them, and I must say, they are very good...I got the recipe from a blog and copied the recipe and forgot to copy the name of the blog...
I will give you the recipe:

Red Velvet Cookie Sandwiches

1 box Red velvet cake mix(I used Duncan Hines)
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter, softened to room temp.(1 stick)

Preheat oven to 350

Mix this together and I hope you have a better mixer than I do, I just have a hand held one and it overheated..lol..

Using a small cookie scoop, place 12 cookies on cookie sheet about 2" apart...

Bake for 10-12 minutes, then place on wire rack to cool...
Then I used Duncan Hines cream cheese icing and spread it on the cookies and put them together....
I had 18 cookies

Let me know if you make them, and I am sure any flavor cake mix and icing would be good too...I bought Strawberry mix to try...
