My First "Made from Scratch" pound Cake

I was on this blog"Mommy's Kitchen" which by the way is an awesome blog....She posted about this pound cake she made and included the recipe. It looked so easy, so I went out and got the ingredients I needed....and let me just say, I am so proud, cause it is Delicious!

Home in Florida

My sister and BIL brought me back to Florida last Sat, the 16th, and along with my nephew, Jesse, they stayed with us until yesterday, Friday, 22nd......Hubby and I enjoyed having them here, now the house is so empty...

I enjoyed my stay in NC, and being with family, got to spend quality time with my parents...
When my sister was here, We went over to the gulf coast in St. Pete for a day and another day we went to Silver springs and rode the glass bottom boats....very Cool! Sharing a few pics but not in order they were taken

COLD

I am still visiting with family in NC and its very cold and the wind is whipping...Hubby is back home in Florida and its cold there too, he said it was down to 32, 2 nights in a row...hoping it will be warmed back to 60's and 70's by the time I get back there...around the 15th..

Hope everyone is staying warm!

One year ago, I lost my dear granddaughter, Amber Dawn..She was taken to be an Angel with the Lord!
Here is a poem that I borrowed from another blog...

"I'm Spending Christmas with Jesus this Year"

I see the countless Christmas trees

around the world below

with tiny lights like heaven stars

reflecting on the snow



The sight is so spectacular

Please wipe away that  tear

For I'm spending Christmas

with Jesus Christ this year



I hear the many Christmas songs

That people hold so dear

O', the sounds of music can't compare

with the Christmas choir up here.



For I have no words to tell you

of the joy their voices bring

for it's beyond description

to hear the angels sing.



I know how much you miss me,

I see the pain inside your heart.

but, through our memories so dear..

We're never far apart.



I can't tell you of the splendor

or the peace here in this place

Can you just imagine Christmas

with Our Savior.......face-to-face.



I'll ask him to light your spirit

As I tell him of your Love.

Then I'll pray for 'One another'

As you lift your eyes above.



So please let your heart be joyful

for I'm spending Christmas in heaven
