Gone For 2 Weeks

I am going to North Carolina today and stay for 2 weeks. I am very excited about getting to spend the Holidays with my family.....but I will miss my hubby, he has to stay home to take care of his 91 year old Mother.....

Small Ornament Swap

These are the ornaments that I made for the swap!

On the altered_stArt yahoo group, we did a small ornament swap, make 4 and get 4 in return.....These are the ones I made for the swap using bamboo tiles, alcohol inks, stamps, embossing, wire...I like how they turned out....
These are the ones I got in return, I love all of them and think everyone did a wonderful job on them.....Aren't they the prettiest things?

Pen Resist Techinque

This is my try at the Pen Resist techinque...We are doing this at Altered_stART yahoo group......Techinque Tuesdays and we have 2 weeks to give it a try....

I used watercolor paper and Krylon Gold leaf pen on 2 of the cards and a silver calligraphy pen on the others...then you are suppose to use liquid watercolors, but I don't have any so I used my Twinkling H2O's and juiced them up good by spraying water on them......after that drys then you are to stamp in black acrylic paint, but I used Staz-On ink pad...the top right one, I didn't stamp cause I liked how it had a stained glass effect.....The silver pen seemed to resist much better than the gold leafing pen....It was fun and now I have some backgrounds....

Shattered glass techinque

I read a tutorial on Shattered glass techinque here: http://tinyurl.com/24d5zv

Debbie also has some other neat tutorials on her blog...

I tried it and like it, it was fun, this would be a fun project for kids too...

The techinque uses painters tape (torn in long strips) to block off some parts of your dark (here I used black) cardstock, then apply acrylic paints in different colors, let dry and stamp with Staz-on ink and then pull the tape off....neat huh?

Lake Eola Festival

Hubby and I went to a festival in Orlando at Lake Eola, it is downtown, the weather was perfect and we enjoyed it so much....the swans are so pretty out on the lake and the arts and crafts booths were lined up all around the lake..

Taking long weekend

Hubby and I are trailering the motorcycle to NC mountains...We are leaving early Friday morning and come back Tue. evening....looking forward to just getting away and getting to some cooler weather (Still Hot in FL)....also hope the trees are pretty colors too...I will have pics to share when I return....

I made this pendant and wore it to my GYN appt. this morning and she wanted to know where I got it, I told her I made it and she wanted to buy it from me, but I took it off and let her have it, she put it on and went on and on about it( made me feel good..lol)......now I have to make me another one...

Glass Coasters

I bought these 4 glass coasters and they have a slot in back for a photo, so I altered the cardboard that was there with some paper, mulbery paper and images(from B-Muse)....I think they turned out really well...I may do some slides for them with a Christmas theme too....I think it will be fun to change them around...the glass has a green tint....I love Green.....

Washer Pendant

This is a pendant made with a washer, I bought a kit from Lisa Vollrath http://www.tentwostudios.com/

and she had wonderful instructions on how to make these....In the kit was 3 washers, the satin cord and seed beads along with 2 Sharpies..along with the mermaid images sized to fit the washer.....

edited: I removed the how-to instructions by request of Lisa from ten two studios....

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I am a 3 year SUVIVOR!

My Oldest Granddaughter, Christa

This is me, my GD, Christa and her step-mom, Debra.......Christa just got her drivers license and her Mom Debra brought her to Disney World for the week....We went there a couple of nights(hour drive for us) and took them to dinner....This is where we ate on Friday night, and boy was it good.......Very Good!.....lol..

Playing with new Stuff: Perfect Pearls by Ranger

I recently bought some Perfect Pearls by Ranger,http://www.rangerink.com/products_perfectpearls.html

I started playing with them and liked the background I came up with...I used a doodle stamp with the Perfect Medium and stamped on white cardstock, then used copper and gold Perfect Pearls powder to brush over the stamped doodles....

This is a card I made from a PP background, I did an Iris Fold Buttefly and Flower on the card..

using a large and small flower punch and gluing some together and putting a sequin in the middle...

My neice sent this picture of my Mama's canning, isn't it just beautiful?...My parents live in NC and my Daddy always has a large garden....I was talking to Mama this week and she said Daddy was making a soup with all the fresh things from the garden in it....YUMMY, boy do I miss that.....

RIDING THE WAVES........

I'm Backkkkkk.........

We are back from vacation from North Carolina....I brought my 2 oldest granddaughters back to stay for 2 weeks.....We are having a very good time together...on the left is Kimberly, 14 and right is Christa, 16.....and my tipsy pots that have filled in nicely...

Hubby and I went to NC mts. for a few days and we rode our motorcycle, then we went on to see my family and spend time with them.....It was fun but had to do a lot of running to try to see everybody....LOL

I will put a link to pictures when I get them sorted and loaded....

VACATION!!!!

Finally, our vacation will begin tomorrow....Hubby and I are loading up the motorcycles and heading to the NC mountains for a few days and then on to Madison, NC...(just north of Greensboro).....where my family lives...I can't wait to see my parents and my daughters and grandchildren too.......also I am looking forward to bringing my 2 oldest(16 and 14) GD's back to stay with us for 2 weeks....We will have lots of fun........I will have a lot of pictures when I return!
