Troubling Times

Life brings about troubling times!

My Daddy got very sick last summer and had a long rehabilitation, he could not go home because he and Mama had packed up the house so that he could no longer live there.....My sister and brother-in-law built them an apartment on to their house, and they love it and seem to be very happy there....My sister has been talking to them, especially my mama, telling them we have to start on removing everything from the old house....I had heart surgery last summer and also had some trying times afterwards.....

I live in Florida, but they live in North Carolina....I am here in NC staying with my sister and we started last week on cleaning out the house....Boy, was it ever hard, 3 bedroom house and 2 of them were packed to the ceiling.....it took a long time and a lot of muscle....My mama is not taking it very well, there has been a lot of hurtful things said from her, daddy just sorta takes everything into stride....Sure there was things they wanted to keep, but Mama had bought non-sense stuff and packed up, not to be seen until we pull it all out....of course she doesn't have room in the one bedroom apt. to put anything else and anyways, she wanted all new stuff and got it....Now, we have the house set up for a huge sale and going to have it every weekend in July......Mama is remember things and asking have you seen this or that?...I want it......If we tell her No, she says, I guess somebody took it!

Oh, dear, has this been tough....but my sister and I are determined that this will not tear our family apart.....Mama is sulking like a child and yelling at Daddy its all your fault for getting sick.....

I have been praying for all of this to end well and with some extra money for our parents to have to fall back on....She has been going to yard sales for years and know how thing have to be priced to sell, but she is looking at prices we are putting on things and saying, but I paid this amount for that.....

We thought this would be hard to do if they were gone (deceased), but I think it has been much harder doing it while they are still with us...

I love my parents and I pray that the Lard will tell Mama that she needs to get past it.....

Just saying Hi

It has been a while since my last post. It seems I spend most of my time reading other blogs in Google reader...But, I did want to say, Thank you for the followers I have and I will try to do better, even if its just posting pictures....

Hubby will be loosing his job at Kennedy Space Center in the near future due to cuts in the space program..so we are very concerned what will come next for us in our lives, but I know God has a plan for us and I am praying he will give us the signs for what or where he wants us to be.....My family are in NC and we might end up there, which will be a good thing.

I had a Beamer in '92, it was an old '85 318i and I loved it but it got totaled before I had it very long...I always hoped I would own another one...Thanks to my Wonderful Hubby, he sold his Rousch Mustang and a motorcycle for me to own another Beamer....He is liking it pretty good also....I just love it...and Very Thankful to the Lord for letting it happen...

Yard Birds

Aren't they so pretty?.....They are local "Ibis".........they come to the yard a lot to eat bugs and such, when I saw them outside the patio, I crumbled up some bread and threw it out for them.....They loved it....We call them out "Yard Birds"........lol.. ...click to enlarge

Mail Art

I just received this great pkg in the mail today!...The box was wrapped with this wonderful mail art from my fairy friend Star, I love it and love flamingos so much. This is so beautiful....you should go to her blog here.......She is very talented and I also love her stories too...

and in my box, I found these great gifts, a crocheted dishcloth, I love the colors and its so soft.....and the rock with the cutest fairy art....and WOW, the canvas painted with this fantastic art work....Star, I love all of it so much and I ask Rod "does this look like me".....He said"Yep, it does"....lol...much prettier than me but I so like it and the whole pkg...Thank you so very much...

Just a few things...............

Cardinal was up on this branch just singing his heart out, i just love hearing them...

Roof vent, bought for 3.00 at yard sale several years ago, and I painted it up and hubby put it on the pole and I made a bottle tree out of it too, It has been out in the weather for almost 5 years and the paint still looks great and I love how the pole has aged with nice patina......purple bowling ball in the background, hubby cut out a hole in the stump for it to fit into.....I need to shine it up again....

This geranium has been planted here for 3 years and still going strong....the packing peanuts are showing cause I had to pull up a small tree out of the pot, I kept cutting it back and the roots kept taking over....

This is my little touch of spring!
The cute little cup with nest and bird, I found at Cracker Barrel, the stoneware bird from the Dollar Tree, and my favorite, the nest in the flower, I won a giveaway from Barbara Jean @ Treasures from the Heart....I love it, she is very talented as you will see if you click on her blog and take a look around...She always shares how-to's also...I just thought these little things looked so cute together..

My First "Made from Scratch" pound Cake

Home in Florida

My sister and BIL brought me back to Florida last Sat, the 16th, and along with my nephew, Jesse, they stayed with us until yesterday, Friday, 22nd......Hubby and I enjoyed having them here, now the house is so empty...

I enjoyed my stay in NC, and being with family, got to spend quality time with my parents...
When my sister was here, We went over to the gulf coast in St. Pete for a day and another day we went to Silver springs and rode the glass bottom boats....very Cool! Sharing a few pics but not in order they were taken
